ORDINANCE 2021-22

Re-Enacting Ordinance 1931 which Continues in Force and Effect for the Period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022, Imposing the Real Estate Transfer Tax

BE IT ORDANED AND ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAZLETON:

SECTION 1. Ordinances enacted under the Local Tax Enabling Act (53 P.S. ยง 6924.101 et seq.) be and hereby are to continue in force and effect for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022, as follows, to wit:

Ordinance 1931 โ€“ Real Estate Transfer Tax โ€“ at a rate of one (1%) percent; shared with the School District as follows: 0.5% to the School District and 0.5% to the City of Hazleton.

SECTION 2. Any and all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. In the event any taxpayer subject to Ordinance 98-8 is granted an extension to pay said Federal Tax, then an extension shall also be granted by the City of Hazleton for the payment of the tax set forth in this Ordinance.
